This tool developed by the SPFer aims at enabling you to visit Notre Dame des Marais in a simple way. Flash the QRcodes set up in various locations in the church to access the notice you are facing. You can access different notices via the menu tab on any particular notice.

Start with a little information about the exterior.

The parish church Notre Dame des Marais was built between 1450 and 1596, starting with the nave between 1450 and 1596 on the location of the former church Notre Dame-Saint Gatien. A sepulchral chapel was added between 1616 and 1624.

On the facade you can admite the great vault, its flying butresses and its sculpted decor. The sanctuary is adorned with a balustrade displaying the words of the Regina Coeli, an anthem sung on the Virgin Mary’s Day August 15th.

Above the windows from left to right you can see the roman emperors, and above again from right to left : The king of France and his council, the four humours of medecine (Black bile, yellow bile, phlegm and blood) and the seven planets corresponding to the days of the week preceded on the left by the Pelican feeding its young, a symbol of Christ.

Around the sanctuary the balustrade is decorated with a frieze in the gothic flamboyant style very similar to the one in Trinity church in Vendôme.
